1/48 Eduard Bf 109E-3 “Swiss Miss”

Post by AtomCat109 »

Book marking my spot for my upcoming build as I gather all the stuff I need to build it. Until then I will enjoy some reading (well more like looking at pictures vs actual reading) of the bird to be built.

The plan:
Swiss Bf 109E-3 W/Nr.2420 J-356

Well here is the kit, the Eduard Bf 109E-3 Weekend Edition! Though this will take way longer than a weekend to complete!

To kill some time as I wait until I get more equipment to build this and many more kits, I went ahead and corrected the cowl to meet the Swiss spec!

Now to fix the hump issue came at a cost, lost details, more specifically was the rivets.
I found a Rosie the Riveter in 1/48 in .65mm, wondering if that should suffice in rolling new rivet detail at roughly the correct spacing?

Following along with you! I use both 0.65 (for 1/48) and 0.75 (for 1/48 and 1/32). You will probably have to test the 0.65 out first before you use this on your repair. You certainly are preparing extremely well for your project! A great choice of subject, too!

Well I guess I will need to pick up one of those and just see how it contacts Eduards rivet marks. I figure I can roll them light and slow until I duplicate the right depth as the original marks made by Eduard.

The specific version I am going to do is the “Shark Mouth” scheme on this Emil. Now this blueprint book is a nice reference though I will need to photocopy the pages I will use with this build as to keep it clean considering it is not in print anymore which is a damn shame.
