Thank you fellas!

Work on the “fabric” surfaces has continued this weekend:

Image

These were painted with Tamiya acrylics and the little lights there have been prepped with Model Master Chrome Trim. Later on down the line I plan to hit those little guys with a thinned mix of their appropriate colors mixed with Clear. I’m hoping that’ll give them a nice, subtle, “these could indeed be lights” effect.

Okay! I guess we’re ready to get the AS-12 on her. I’ll give this work 24 hours to cure, then mask it (that shouldn’t be difficult or too terribly time-consuming, it’s just straight lines) and prime the rest of the airframe with AS-12.

Again, this isn’t my usual standard operating procedure when it comes to painting, but changing it up has forced me to be more mindful, careful, and it’s helping me paint with more precision.

Thank you! I’m hoping this experiment is as successful on this project as it was on the paint mule, vis- using AS-12 as a chipping base *and* “primer” for the plastic.

I had no issues with the bare metal pulling off the pieces I painted last night. However, there was some pulling after masking the areas I’d painted earlier this morning. Gotta let that stuff cure!
