Hasegawa 1/72 Mil Mi-24 Hind A

Post by BorgR3mc0 »

I finished my Hind build. The Hasegawa kit was probably good at the time but has been superseded by the Zvezda kit. Most obvious mistakes : a three man cockpit and the lack of the “Hind twist” in the front view (the Hind is not symmetrical).
The twist was to large a job to do. Modifications I did make where:
- made a two man cockpit and added details to the interior
- corrected the missiles to an assymetrical configuration
-added wiring to the gear and missiles.

The kit has good fit and is easy to assemble.
The paintwork didn’t went that well. You can discover some splotches here and there. And I think the underside grey is to dark.
I used an oil wash, charcoal pencil and silver pencil for weathering and chipping. Not to much since this bird has one of those “best maintenance crew” logos on the nose.

Wow! Another great build!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

A superb looking Hind Borg. I think you've got the the look of it spot on and I really like the work you did correcting the mistakes of the kit and giving it the right configuration.

Nicely done!

I love these monsters. Especially when they're built on such a high level.
