Yep, models were made to be built and you are doing that, and more importantly you are humble enough to share your work with us as well .

Mr. Silver does some nice work for sure, but as Carlos said there are areas that can be critiqued. And, not showing it because it is too good is BS. Given his presumed age by his stated history, he should be aware that there is always going to be a faster rat ( someone better, smarter, faster, richer, has a nicer car, better job, builds better models etc. etc) than himself. Just the way it works, be true to yourself, it is far easier.

Right! I mean the basic premise is very subjective. And of course a show is gonna reflect upon the talents of those who show up. Location and demographics of the area have their influence- larger numbers of modelers in a given area will likely increase the numbers (though not the likely percentage) of higher talent that show up.
Now the Hunter vs Super Sabre concept is a fun concept. Both machines have their advantages over the other.

This is the first time I've bumped into him. I find his rhetoric kinda funny. I agree his work is really nice, but I've seen better (maybe not on the NMF stuff). But poking a thread that was predominantly saying the UK is better than the US when it comes to models... well - that's what I would expect a fighter pilot to do. Anyhow - hoping the Padres get the wildcard spot

It’s not the country a person is from that defines them as “the best modeler” but the one who has spent a lot of time doing it. Plus it helps to learn of others too, there are those I wish I was as good as but the only way you can try is to do what they do. You do find ways to make it work better for you in the process.

The people I have learned from span the globe.

Now everyone has their pros and cons, some are great at scratch building, others are better at painting, the degree of how much better in one category vs another varies from person to person. But the important thing to remember is they didn’t start out the best. Models will be ruined along the journey.
