I like the camo Owl. Also, the idea of using plastic shims instead of filler on the nose is very good. However, I would suggest to use styrene, that is easier to blend in and attach then the transparent plastic that you used. Styrene can just melt in if you use a liquid glue, then there is no need for filler.
I mostly use stuff that Ive scrounged from around teh house, so that leaves mostly plastic card. Would stretched sprue work?

I like the choice of markings on this. Not something you see every day. I have a penchant for the odd, being odd myself, so this fits in perfectly! Can't wait to see it finished. :yipee:

Nice rapid progress there Owl. I like that Condor Legion scheme. You have done some really nice work on this old Hobbycraft (yes, that kit was originally modled by Hobbycraft and Academy later accquired the molds) 109.

Scavenging your materials from household items is great. I have a box with all sort of odd scrap bits to be used in builds. Stretched sprue would not work that good for this application because it is round. But styrene can be found in the house. For instance old bank/membership cards. Just sand of the glossy coating. Another source of stryrene in the house can be those little clips around bread bags. Not big but often big enough for 1/72 and 1/48 models.
