Blast from the past model kits....

Post by BlackSheep214 »

I remember doing these back in the 70s. How many of you remember them? I know I've done just about almost all of Tom Daniels design kits in my youth years.

Who remembers watching Buck Rogers on TV?

And Battlestar Gallactica….

Some kits I've never knew existed back then...

From Ironsides television show

The Fonz Car kit... Whaaaat??? He rode motorcycles, not a car on Happy Days. :hmm:

I don't remember seeing this car on Welcome Back, Kotter... :hmm:

Post some kits you remember from your first time doing model kits.

Been looking for a Tri Pacer for a while that they don’t want zillions of dollars.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

I built the Starfighter and the Viper. Nice kits. I will build them again. Also Lyle the Tri Pacer is on eBay for 10 bucks starting bid and 14 bucks shipping.
Make more models!

I vaguely remember the Rat Vega. There were SO MANY of those Tom Daniels & Deals Wheels kits like that. I love the irreverence of those kits and the attitude associated. It was harmless fun. Like Mad Magazine. I built the Weasel many times, still have the last one on my shelves here. I would not mind getting another to backdate into the basic M29. I built all of the Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica kits when they were first released. I would not mind getting my hands on the Piper one day. Like the F3F, it was one that I just never quite picked up over the years.

Brings back pleasant memories of dime stores, saving the allowance and firecrackers. Great times...

A couple more I've done in my youth years...

Remember the Mustang II?

Another one from a television show I used to watch faithfully as a kid. Remember the show called 240 Robert? 240 Robert lasted only 2 seasons - Season 1 with 13 episodes, while Season 2 with only 3 episodes.

More on the short lived show on ABC...

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting the head off a Hydra, two more take it’s place.
