Pity this and tens of other planes stand outside, without any protection..

I took this back in 2016 at Lackland AFB when my son graduated from USAF Basic Training... same situation- outdoors in the Texas weather with no protection. BTW, these markings are on one of the re issues of the Monogram kit.

Those are the markings I'm doing Stick - came with the kit. Different tail number, and black trim around the red nose - otherwise looks the same

Hey, that's a nice project! If you have some time and interest, there's a series of videos made by Will Pattison on how to tackle a great looking bare metal finish on a Sabre. Maybe there's something of interest for you.
Cheers,

Thanks for the link. I'm a big Alclad fan. I'll do my normal BMF of alclad with tamiya smoke panel line shading. Though I may do a couple shades of Alclad this time - we'll see.
Thanks,
John

Great progress - that cockpit looks great!

I think HB is quite underrated as a manufacturer - they make some nice kits.

Little more work on this one tonight. Bit of sanding and polishing getting ready for the BMF. Got the horizontal stabilizers on. Almost time to paint.

Man, that sucks. You will get it!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Overall it looks great. Looks like you will have overcome the noseweight issue soon.

If you’re going through Hell, keep going!

You’ll get it licked! And she’s looking great otherwise.
