Won this kit earlier this year at a show. My wife shes interested in the Great War so I had her pick out the markings since I'm building it for her.
First thing I noticed is just how small this aircraft is, now I know why a lot of WWI aircraft come out int 1/32.
I'm just a bit farther a long that what I have shown, everything is buttoned up and you really can't see much but the seat in the cockpit now.
I got two of the lozenge decals on now (one on each side of the airframe) both are way bigger than needed to be, is this normal for these kits? this is my first WWI kit.






I'm really happy with the way the wooden prop turned out. I drew the lamination lines with a pencil also used a pencil to simulate some wood grain. Then used some medium brown Vallejo and orange orch. readded the lamination lines then tooks some really thin Vallejo orange brown and gave it several washes followed last with some clear gloss.

Cannot answer your question regarding the decals, but I do agree the prop looks superb!
( even if really well explained paint process of the prop, perhaps still a couple of in-between pics of the different steps in the painting process ? )

The engine looks also very good!

Thank you Kari. Yes it is in 1/48, sorry I didn't take more photos of the painting process. I had planed on probably scrubbing the prop several times being the first time doing one. I kinda surprised myself that it came out looking good the first time.

Thank you all for your kind words! The kit is close to being done, probably the fastest start to finish build I've ever done and I haven't been rushing it either.

Woke up this afternoon looked at the decals and everything looked fine so decided to spray a acrylic gloss coat to protect them. Came back a hour later to check on it and the tail has winkled like crazy. I have never had this happened before they had been dry for a good 12 hours. I've sprayed gloss over decals before in shorter time and never seen react like this before. I've thought maybe adding some micro Sol would even them out but with the gloss coat on I don't think it did a thing
