LOL my opinion is to search almost the fujimi kit , sure better than this old thing
Hope that the airfix can use the new tool to put on sale the sh-3 versions

If I ever do build a Sea King, it's a toss up for Vietnam Era CSAR markings



or post Vietnam full color markings a la "Final Contdown"...

I can see the difficulty in deciding Carlos. Both of those schemes look great. Looks like you'll have to buy two and build one each.

Well the downside of my chosen scale, 1/48, is that there is only one SH-3 kit available... in many boxings, but all of the same mold. And since it is a Hasegawa kit that is not cheap. Nor is the SH-3 a small whirlybird... so it will just be one for me if and when it happens. Unless I find a deal for two that I can not refuse.

Often I avoud buy haeegawa kits for price. But an offer after another o gathered lots of hase kits , probably too much
Just wait till the good offer and go for two build

Btw I get recently a good sheet for the kamov helix family with 69 options (included swiss civil versuons) but think exclude to search 69 helix kits

Guess I've been fortunate! First one I got, I got for $10 from a vendor table (decals were shot)...I picked up another, last year for about $25 on sale from some online shop (Jap markings...need to get US markings for it). I've seen these kits as high as $80....ridiculous! Don't get me wrong, it's a decent kit (could use some interior help) but really isn't worth any more than about $30.

Since switching down to 1/72, I have done one Cyber Hobby kit...and added to the stash another 2 C/H kits, a Revell, plus one new and one old mold Airfix 53's.

We have a kit swap meet coming up at the end of this month. If I can make it, I'll keep an eye open for any deals. Online I see them starting for around $35 with free shipping. $80 is outrageous. I still have a couple CH-53s in my stash to worry about.

Oops...I meant H-3's in the stash...not 53's (I do have the Italeri 53E Sea Dragon though)

Still hurting my own butt for having sold my 1/48 Sea King back then... What a dumb decision!
