Great…. Carlos gonna keep us in suspense on marking choice. :giggles: Looking forward to more. I have a P-51 Mustang in my stash. I planned on starting it some point this summer as a dual build.

I am still looking for decals belonging to a particular Mustang belonging to one “Punchy” Powell; The West by Gawd Virginia was his stead.

Looked everywhere these past few years and not had any luck finding it in 1/48 scale. I know I posted something a year or so ago looking for that decal set at another sub thread.

Thanks Bruce. I haven’t built a P-51D since I was in High School, so it’s been awhile. Yeah, I’d like to get the Eduard D-5 kit if I can find one at work….

Chris this is a fun kit so far. No fussing with anything crazy… :headslap: I have the AMT/Otaki Gustav in my stash and keep putting it aside. Maybe one of these days soon I’ll pull the trigger and go for it.

Yeah, I’m keeping it a secret until the decals that I ordered arrive. :bag: :giggles:

I have never heard of the P-51 that you’re looking to build. But then again, there were literally hundreds upon hundreds of markings in real life and the decal companies can’t cover them all…

Ok, I know the Fighter Group, but again it’s not a name I’m familiar with compared to Meyer or Preddy. :hmm:

Todays update- between yesterday and today, I was able to get the panel lines that I had filled with Mr Surfacer 500 sanded smooth by wet sanding using sanding sticks starting at 180 grit and working up to 1000 grit
