Wishing you total success on your health challenge Stuart. It’s not easy to do, but it can be done. Don’t get discouraged. The results are slow to be truly noticeable.
And the trio of Tamiya F-35s sound like great incentive as well

What Carlos said Stuart. Good luck. I'm in the same boat. My Problem is Coffee, 1st thing in the morning, I think it get's the digestive system going and makes you hungry right out of the gate. When I was younger, I never ate breakfast even. Never got hungry until lunch time

I was planning to answer this post first, Stuart. I agree with you and sympathize. I suggest you also set a caloric limit of 2,000/day and log meals into an app, so you can see what's happening here with your eating habits. The tighter you can track them the better. Also, watch plank exercise videos and start stretching first. I was extremely fat a year ago and lost 35 pounds by monitoring and changing my diet. I still log meals.
35lbs - good going Bruce!
That's all sound advice and I'll be doing that - thanks Bruce. I don't have a smarthphine but I am keeping a notebook of my meals and calory intake (I have a book on it). I'm also planning to do a lot more floor exercises - I've not heard of plank exercises, but I suspect it's the same thing I have in mind - I'll go and have a look as you suggest. I'm also planning on going for a short brisk walk every morning after the school run (just parking up on the beach road and doing 10-20 minutes) and, daft as it sounds, firing up the old Zumba exercise program on our old Wii.

Thanks Chris! I love coffee too but I do try to stick with tea in the morning - but actually it does sometimes have the same effect. I'm not that bothered about breakfast either and (if I could stop snacking!) would only really eat brunch and dinner.

The theory as my trainer explained to me is to keep a 2,000 calorie count with 180 grams of protein. If you own or can find a used kettlebell the weight training will knock off pounds fast. Try swings and planks three days a week and get walking again!

Thanks Bruce, that makes sense. I'll look into a kettleball.

I commend you on your efforts and successes to losing weight. I have diabetes Type II and so I've been pushing to lose weight. I rarely eat more than two meals a day, mostly just one. I was put on Ozempic by my doctor for diabetes control and the side benefit to me was weight loss. I was also very frustrated with the time it was taking, so my wife at my insistence signed me up for a gym membership. It is down the road from my house, so I walk to the gym for my warm-up, do my lifting, and then walk home for my cool-down. My favorite is Caesar salad, so I make myself one of those almost every day. Another side benefit I got from that: my eyeglass prescription has been weakened as my eyes got stronger since Romaine helps improve eyesight. I'm currently at 220 lbs which is the lowest I've been in decades; two years ago I was topping the scales at almost 270. My first long-term goal had been to get to 235 which is the lowest I'd been before after working a grueling season at Knott's Berry Farm doing extensive overtime building their Halloween Haunt mazes. I've since beaten that, and now I'm pushing toward my second long-term goal: 185 lbs. That is only 20 pounds heavier than I was when I got married. If I can get to my second long-term goal, then reaching my married weight will be fairly simple..... I hope. Then comes the battle to stay that way. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
I'll continue to pray for your success, not only because I want to see those kits built, but because I want to see all of you for many more years; hopefully in person someday. I've lost too many friends already that I've always wanted to spend more time with and one more will be leaving me soon.

Instead of a gym, why not try Tai Chi? That’s my goal once I retire to take up Tai Chi classes at a local college.

Good suggestions Gents - I might look into it. Currently I'm doing some walking along the sea front at the moment, along with some floor exercises and weight work.
Very well done Mark! That's awesome!

Well this is kind of working, I've lost 7lbs in the first week - If I can keep that up over the next few months I'll be happy - annoyingly I'm not getting much exercise done, as I've screwed my knee up, but I'm getting some.
