I like the OD/NG scheme, you don't see many 29's painted that way.

Hope the wings start working with you!

If you have any contacts that can find the Iliad OD decals in 1/48 for the B-29 - let me know! I do not expect the starboard side to be any better. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst and will settle for anything in between.

Try here: http://flightdecs.ca/A_iliad_48.htm

I've purchased from FlightDec's before. They are the old fashioned system of print form, fill out and send with check.

Flilghtdecs doesn't have them. Already talked to Joe. They are long OOP he said. Leary of Squadron's "in stock soon" line. I'll email them and see if they have any idea.

When I saw these decals were in stock at FlightDecs, I thought I hit the jackpot for you. If I run across anything, I'll let you know.

I wonder why you re-attached the wing using CA? Wouldn´t melting the parts with plastic glue get a better bond?
It was originally glued with Tenax. Some CA was applied over that to seal a stress fracture (guess that is what you would call it). The CA sets more quickly and with this beast, there is nothing but a butt joint to work from.
Big wings like that are always a pain in the butt. :giggles:

When I did that C-130 I had a hell of a time keeping the wings attached and that's with Tamiya Extra Thin and then Super Glue.

Mike, they are a big PITA! Especially with a somewhat closed in workspace. Right now it is resting on the trash can. Wings are on (for now!), filled, sanded and primed. Still a small recess to fill, probably with Mr. Surfacer 500.

A bit sloppy here. Broke out the 100 grit and a chisel.

I am definitely going to have to come down to the bench at night. No matter how many parts I've pulled from the trees on this kit, they still look full! I think they is up to some hanky panky.....just sayin'.

Looks as though you're making steady progress Lyle. Good thing it didn't hit the floor when it tried to slid off of your bench as the damage would have more than likely been a lot more than just a separated joint. Good goin' so far bud.
