What Carlos wrote... all the details come together to create the effect. The engine has form and weight, too, which is pretty darn amazing when you see the actual size in the last photo. Props to you and the photography as well: soft, clean light and a white backdrop even out the way the cam sees the colors. Cheers, buddy.

Thanks fellas.
I installed the engine / xmsn assy this morning and checked out the stance again with the spare body in place. I should be receiving my silver bearing solder in the next day or so and will get started on the exhaust system.
We'll be moving forward from here though:

Thanks Carlos. I've been wet sanding now for the past two mornings and will probably be sanding for another 2 and then it's off to polishing for a couple more mornings. After that'll come all the detail painting and BMF work.

Ya know, I have a Chevy pickup truck build that was sidelined ages ago in the paint process. My father in law wanted me to build it for him but he died before I was able to finish it. I will need to hit you up about the polishing/finishing when I resurrect that project.

Acronym question, in case I missed this:
BMF - Bare Metal Finish
NMF - Natural Metal Finish?
I was going to ask also a surface prep question, too. How do you prepare styrene for paint? Any particular procedures? I assume you have sanded to a certain grit; than polished the surface to remove imperfections. I gave up reading surface painting techniques online because I found these ideas confusing to me.

Hey Bruce,
BMF=Bare Metal Foil. It's an adhesive backed foil used for chrome trim on autos and some Natural Metal Finish on aircraft. I used it on my Fw190 D-9 a few years back and it worked out very well for me.
I'll cover the finish sanding/ polishing techniques I use tomorrow. It's beddy bye time for me tonight brutha. Gotta get up at 3:30 to model some more. lol
