Yes! I think that’s right. Very sharply observed... the way the bottle is turned; the position of the gun (he’s enlisted and that’s an officer’s gun?) and the patch... yes, truly. There are shots of easy camaraderie, as well:

Officers or enlisted could have a .45, depending upon their job, or their unauthorized acquisition skills. :giggles:

Some of their photos do make the war seem enjoyable at times. Making the best of a bad situation. :hmm: Of course their situation is not the same as up on the front lines with the total lack any comfort or amenities.

You are wise to make the point about front line conditions—many of these photos were taken in Italy during what may be R and R.

Looking forward to more progress, Carlos!

The wallpaper is a killer! I'd love to cover a small corner of my living room with something alike.

I’ve been working on the final touches on this project. On Sunday I added the propeller, main landing gear struts, belly tank, and a strip of tissue paper in the tail wheel well to represent the canvas boot many P-40s had in there... and cover up the seam... I took these photos yesterday

This morning before work I painted the tires and tail wheel well boot... but no photos yet. All ready for the final bits now...
