I think that is red/orange, BUT if you want orange.....

I’d call it an orange or red orange. (Dayglo Red?) Compare it to a known constant in the photo, the red stripe in the national insignia and the red intake warning area. Both of those are in Insignia Red, and are not so vivid in hue as the high visibility test markings or nuke simulator shapes on the wing pylons.

Those are stunning photos. What a beautiful aircraft!

I have read that some folks consider the MiG-25 design to have been inspired/influenced by the A-5A design. Looking at the general layout, twin engine configuration, and intake/nose areas, it’s not too hard to see why...
Although overall the Foxbat is quite a bit “beefier”.

First a note of appreciation to the man or woman who built this Monogram kit and took it to the Nats this year. As we all have built or are building Monogram jets and have a special spot in our hearts for vintage plastic, here is an exquisite example!



If you read the notes, there is a lot of work done (Fisher Scale patterns resin AM, for example). Congratulations to this anonymous modeler.

For the purpose of adding these markings at some point, perhaps. I think Cutting Edge made early A-5A Vigilante decals but I don’t know the scale sizes or have the spendable cash to buy a decal sheet from aBay and frankly I’m not sure CE made 1/72 decals anyway. Thoughts? Helpful hints?
