Agreed, Stuart. Agreed most heartily. Beautiful model!

Off-topic, congratulations on your new old camera and welcome back from your vacation!

August 30, 2019 - my completion deadline

Brass tacks: with the egg timer flipped, and time counting down to my self-imposed deadline, I did shoot the lock off the wallet for basic supplies. The other night my Mr Just CA gave up the ghost so I ordered Mr Just Cement in an applicator bottle which reminds me of a nail varnish applicator and who knows it may be one. Let’s hope that works for the final assemblies here. I also ordered higher grit finishing sandpaper and orange paint. If I do the orange tail fin only version of the A-5A I also think I will maximize the potential of the kit’s decals.

In addition, I am planning to foil the leading edges of the wings per specifications of the Vigilante series. I may also foil the areas on either side of the aft tail assembly adjacent the jet exhausts. I noted though that I have another small crack to fix on this part last night. As a result of my thinning of the exhaust areas, I am afraid the part is a bit fragile.

Thanks—feels good!!! I do plan to move up to 2,000 grit on the top of the fuselage, to reduce the thickness of the patched area to a minimum. So close! So close!

Can anyone guess the film from the still frame below? This is a tough guess! I do not think I would get it from this still... but you fellas do know your films... The Viggie looks like a later version to me! I can drop a hint and state the location, if that will help... heh.

I know what movie that shot is from... but I’ll leave it alone for now to give others the guess...

Well... hard for some, easy for others. Sheesh. I know you have not answered yet, but I also know you well enough to know you have the answer based on what you wrote!!

Well I’m out on the guessing game... Wrong era for me lol.

Your build is coming along nicely! Can’t wait to see when you shoot the orange fin on there!

No worries, Kevin. Here are some behind the scenes photos taken at NAS Key West during filming. What is exceptionally badass was the idea to convert a B-25 into a flying camera platform. Charlie Sheen’s Dad Martin Sheen is in one of these photos, if that clue helps.

When I check back tomorrow I will post the title, if no one else guesses.

:hmm: mmmmmm.... I know that film - I only watched it last month.... something about splashing Zeros?

Great use of that pen lid Bruce - I've done something similar several times on these old kits.

Thanks for the welcome back - it's been a bit hectic since we've got back - as we're starting to sort through the the house to get it ready to sell next year, but I'm hoping to be able to get back to the bench soon. If I can find it under the massive pile of books I've had to to take off the book shelves in order to fix them.
