Just imagine the situation in North America during the French Indian Wars, but add more tribes, more foreign powers, and a crumbling national government at the center. There is no easy fix here.

Too many coincidences, too much waffling (dont want to use the word "propaganda" here). There were times when journalists first knew the facts, and then it was in the media. Not the case anymore - its the other way round.

Too many factions pursuing their very own interests, even the Turks cut loose, too many axes to grind, too much propaganda, and any search for a political solution will result in being caught between a rock and hard place or a quest for the least common denominator. It's complicated...
