I see paint in the near future!!!
Cleaning up the leading edge seams was a LONG, TEDIOUS, nightmareish HELL!!!
I sanded em down, then had to carve out each one of those little ribs
Added some nav lights...
Repositioned the tail...
Wing/fuselage join was way bad! Lots of trimming, pressure, filler and sanding required! The PE set is designed for the Airfix kit...which apparently has a shorter wing chord. PE wingfold was almost a 1/4" too short! I cut it up and added a little bit of scratch work to make em work.
The PE bomb/torp sight bay was also a poor fit...trimming and filling made it work.
After tonight, it should be ready for some color!

Wow, wasn't expecting you to open up that unusual bomb-aiming bay too!!!

Started work on new canopies last night.
Cut all the masks on the kit part (single piece BTW...lame!), peeled em off and set aside. Thermo-formed new pieces, placed masks/cut/trim...blah, blah, blah.
Finished up the canopy work this morning...scratched new "telescope" sight as well as the one on the inst coaming.
The prop in this kit is probably the worst I've ever seen....as if it came out of a "Starfix" kit...that's baaaaad!!!
I scratched a new hub with aluminum tubing and brass rod.
Kit props were cut from hub, cleaned up and put on the new hub....WAY better!!!
Ready for the paint shop!!!!

It's just plastic (and stuff)....don't let it kick yer ass!!!!
Was about get working on the pair of 51's, but figured I oughtta get the pin system worked out for the wing fold before it goes off for paint.
1 pin as the support bar, and 2 pins right at the fold.
"Pinch fit"...no glue yet!!!
