after a wash in the recessed details, I flat coated the plane to start on the weathering!

Very good looking bear !
After my F4F Wildcat and F6F Hellcat builds, I really should make a F8F as next..
And actually I have the Revell version, I guess the sprues are more or a less exactly the same as your Monogram ?
Good to see from your WIP that it's a nice one!

looks good, I like the blue, often seen a lighter blue, but yours look like the navy blue

Brilliant work Owl! Looks like you have just enough weathering on that Bear.
Kari, they are the same model. Revell got the molds for this when they bought out Monogram. After the other two, I'd say you are due for the Bearcat!

yup! towards the end of WW2 and into Korea, the navy went with all-blue planes.
The Bearcat entered service too late for WW2, but saw action in Korea. It actually outperformed many of the early jets!!

She looks powerful! With two bombs and four HVAR a single engines aircraft as this one had a heavy punch. Well done, Owl!!!
