F8F Bearcat, *FINISHED*

Post by CallSignOWL »

*EDIT--the post is now working! YAY!*

old monogram kit, raised panel lines. Dont mind the "4-", I got it for much cheaper than that ;)

open it up and out slides some squadron canopies?? Cool! I live it when second-hand kits come with goodies
Image

these decals are older than me...gonna have to find some from the spares
Image

sprue shot! Notice how the wings attach by going through the fuselage!

Very nice! I built this one too from the original boxing. This will be great to watch! Looking forward to seeing more. You're going to have fun with this one; I sure did!

im surprised at how many people have memories of this kit! Ill try to do 'er justice ;)

The pit didnt have much in the way of details, so I painted the pilot figure and strapped him in. I also added side consoles, and a couple of blanking plates to prevent seeing into the hollow fuselage. Another odd detail...the pit is assembled directly on top of the wings!

the engine looked like it was sitting too far back in the cowling, so I stacked a bit of plastic card behind it.

even with all my additions, everything fits!!
