Just when I thought I was ready to mask off the body for the darker color and I find this.....







Not sure what caused it. Maybe from drying in the garage and when got down to the 40s at night a couple nights ago. I had sprayed a second coat of Gloss White.
Thankfully, it's contained on the roof and the left side. Time to bring out the sandpaper and sand it down. Joe, what grit should I start with? Should I wet sand it or dry? Please advise.

If I may, I would suggest stripping it with Easy Off in the yellow can. You'd have to take those areas down to primer or bare plastic anyway most likely, my guess is it's lifted down to the primer.

True. The rattlecan Rustoleum is the all in one spray paint with primer. Looks like I’m going to have to strip it down.

Ahhh, bummer. At least it happened early. Like I say, my hobby is fixing my mistakes

I'd go with what Lee is saying Tom. I've gotten to where I really don't mind stripping so much anymore because it's another opportunity to get better at my painting skills. Sorry that happened to you though. Been there.....done that......SEVERAL times.

Yes, but how do you feel about removing paint?

When I have gad to remove paint, a tub of isopropyl alcohol, some 0000 steel wool and lots of paper towels.

Well, I learned two things.... Easy-Off in the yellow can does work in stripping paint.

Lesson two..... NEVER, EVER use those cheap foil casserole pans.







I sprayed Easy Off on the car body in the foil pan with cover to sit overnight figuring let it do its work.

At lunchtime, I sprayed off the foam of Easy Off and let it sit in another foil pan with Dawn detergent to soak. I'll probably do another rinse in Dawn detergent overnight.

Looks like it's a trip to the dollar store and find a glass pan with cover for future paint stripping on model kits.

Now just imagine what that stuff does to your skin.

LOL! No worries. I was thinking the cheapest way to go. I wondered of plastic would burn off as well just like the plastic foil or not. Now I’m confident I can use plastic container. Thank you.
