I hope she looks good. Aiming for a bare metal finish depicting ship #126 which is the one my friend, Dick Malloy, flew on his last flight with CNAC.

Looks great! Material from a soda can can also be used to make cowling flaps. Nice and thin and they hold a curve well.

I may go back and redo them. Not entirely happy how they look. Thanks for that reminder, too. I have some “stockpiled” ...

John, I appreciate the reminder about using soda cans. I dug some out and used that to cover the back of the flaps. I went back and redid some, and was able to thin them a bit. I am happy with the results (after trimming some on one cowling) and so, I'm stopping while I am ahead.

By the way, first time that I can remember doing this ....

Mounted the cowlings today....Williams Brothers. The gift that keeps on giving. . . if you own stock in putty and sandpaper companies. Both cowls need a touch of that operation. What to use? Bondo, Tamiya white, PPP, boogers?
