The painting itself is done. But there's some flaking. And as mentioned, there are a few "wet" spots (see the sheen in the photo).

Plan: let the paint harden. Then put it in a warm bath to force the resin to harden. And then let it sit for a while (a month?) to see if it worked. If not then I will try acetone/laquer thinner.

Might be worth a shot Borg - leave them somewhere warm.

Looking good though, the Mig-3 is a great looking aircraft.

I submerged one MiG-3 (as a test) in quite hot water. It probably leaked into the cockpit, but we'll deal with that problem later.
The paint held up reasonably well. I did, however, remove the oily residue from the resin with a cotton swab, which took some of the paint with it. I'm hoping that the two hot water dips will now force the resin to fully cure and stop it from "sweating"/exuding oil. I'm going to let it sit for at least a month or so to check if the resin is stable.

Interesting idea Borg - it'll be interesting to see the results.
