Thank you, Mr. Borg!
And thank you, Kari!
After more deliberation, and an attempt, I opted not to use the NAVY blue touch-ups on the leading wing edge. Instead, I opted to use my blue as-is with no white. So it’s still in keeping with the reference. I just hate the way that color looks on top of this one. And since my reference isn’t in color, and the aircraft was in all likelihood painted a two-tone scheme sans the dark blue, I’m not using it. And I feel good about that. Really good actually. God that color looked terrible.
So here’s what I’m opting for:
Here’s my reference (the only available picture of the genuine article):
What I’ve done is good. What I’ve done will definitely work in-keeping with the reference, and not making it so that I feel like destroying it every time I look at it.
Sidebar: my Hellcat calls for that blue I hate. I don’t know if I can do it LOL ... I might opt to go completely sideways with that, and paint it Rebel alliance style, same colors as Luke’s X-Wing fighter...

nah, I don’t think that’ll happen, but you have to admit, it would be hella cool.
Anyhow here she is, after the first round of touch-ups, “field applied” and otherwise:
Gave her a shot of Clear a while ago too, to prepare for decals which are coming next. I’d like to do one or two smaller touch ups, minuscule ones, but those can wait.
Thank you again for your kind words.
