The tadpole head may be due to the fact of not gun firing thru the hub of the 410’s prop, unlike on the 109. Which then leads me to wonder if they shared a common spinner cover, and a blanking plate was put in place of the muzzle opening on the 410....

Thankfully I've not yet had to do this...

That explains a lot, Carlos! What a great photo! What I have is this... which is “weak tea” compared to your image.

A grand looking effort, Bruce. As far as the spirals go I have done both the decal and the tape method. Just for info, Eduard used to make spinner spiral masks as well as Maketar. I used to have a video on how to do them also but like my memory that has seemed to have faded into oblivion.

Stuart!! Oh... yes! Yes! I tried to find one of those, but prices are high for MB! A better engine shape, too. Proof that CAD designs do not always lead to greater accuracy. Those MB molds are apparently “finer,” than Fine Molds when it comes to the overall shape. Looking forward very much!!!!

Paul, Thanks so much! I sincerely appreciate the advice about checking out Eduard masks for spinner spirals.

John! Thank you so much for posting your images of spirals—I think I am going to adapt as much of your process as possible to mask and paint these spirals!

Glad I didn't have to mess with those pesky spinner spirals!

When I do have to do spirals...I use Eduard masks. I bought 2 sets. They say they're for the 190, but there is quite a variety, and there's one for about every spiral you could want. I've used em in 1/48 and 1/72. I have even re-used several of them, several times.

I've been wanting to try and make my own masks for the spiral but have always just ended up using decals, maybe for the next build.
