FM 1/72 Me 410A-1, IIZG26, Gelbe Sieben, Werl, Germany 1943.

Stab II/ZG26, known for its markings of yellow wooden shoes, was equipped with DB603A powered Me 410 heavy fighter-bombers in September 1943. The Me 410, capable of carrying one ton of cargo aloft while reaching speeds of 600 km/hr, was well suited to heavy weapons such as the 3.7cmBK or 5cmBK. W.Nr. 10117 had all its external antennas as well as remote controlled MG131 gun turrets removed. It is believed an additional fuel tank was added inside the fuselage. Published plans for the conversion exist to support the theory. Yellow 7 is believed to have been RLM 82/83/76. Yellow stripes in white signify II Gruppe. The antenna mast over the canopy, remote control gun turret, antenna on the lower fuselage and trailing antenna were all removed.

Initially I purchased a BF109 K-4 from an online seller. There was a problem with the delivery so the seller let me add another FM kit. Completely at random, I chose this one. I read no online reviews before deciding. I came at this purchase without any of the customary hemming and hawing I usually enjoy at the start of a model building adventure. Indeed, I was not even planning to open the box, just tuck it away next to the RoG Ju-88 inside my closet. It was the K-4 I was most curious to see the sprues, and dry fit, and marvel at FM’s wonderful tooling. Instead, this rather big box was the first I opened and is opened still. I want to quickly add that I am still 70 pages into building a PCM Fw 190 Anton, and that is where my loves, lusts and allegiances lie. However I did clip the sprues and start sanding and shaping and going down that slippery slope towards building this kit, so I hemmed and hawed over posting this here, or to keep it as a shadow build away from any forum eyes but frankly I want eyes on these projects, if anyone has eyes to spare!

I still don’t have a normal routine right now, so this is going to be an occasional series—more a series of impressionistic swipes at building this at times when I am either blocked due to space and time or more than likely by my mind to continue the Anton. Thanks to anyone who read this far. It was tough letting the cat out of the bag, because I made a one kit rule but I do know that one hour of 1/72 therapy is good for the model builder’s soul.

You got the attention from both of my eyes. AFAIK Fine Molds is the bees knees when it comes to braille scale models.
And playing the grammar grinch again: It should read "Gelbe Sieben", since the color indication is a preposition. :ugeek:

Hello—and welcome, Atom, Kari, Brent, Torben, Ken, Tom, Clint and Carlos! Thank you all so much!

Cockpit layout.

Pilot’s section of the cockpit. Two views. I think photo two is the U.S. “War Prize” Me 410.

U.S. “War Prize” Me 410. In Deep Storage presumably with the Ark of the Covenant.

:giggles: I see how it is I guess I'm not allowed to follow your build lol

But seriously, I've never heard about this Me 410 in deep storage you have anymore info on it?

So to get to it you go straight past the Ark of the Covenant, take a left at the holly grail and there it is tucked in between the Spear of Destiny and Walt Disneys frozen body. If you get to the original Amber Room you went to far.
