Now I tried to shape the filled cowling section. The first loop wasn't sufficient. You can clearly see that my angle was wrong.

So I reworked that and I think after smoothing it looks now much closer to the drawing.

Also with the attached prop the shape looks now much bette (IMO)

Bruce, thank you for the very kind words. I'm glad I was able to help in some small way. Take your time and we'll keep following this.

Marius, good eye catching that discrepancy. Looks like a perfect fix to me.

Wow! Some really great modifications there! It's always scary cutting up a kit for stuff like this. Y'all are doing a great job! :shoutout:

Note: this is the Lindberg ‘65 tooling, which is a dark gloss green plastic, I am building in the USA. Two kits, two modelers, a virtual side by side buddy build. (Orange line: propellor shaft, blue lines: figuring out the angles.)

You can see the area that needs to be built up with putty which is visible as negative space on the second image. I have adjusted the cowling angle to make it flatter and conform to the top of the engine itself; now I have to add the additional material after the backfill cures.
