Yes. And it seems lots of midwestern states decorated it with heads of grain, but in different styles, to differentiate from eachother. Minnesota's is a bit different...Michigan..etc...

Stinking decal woes... So most Hill gray Phantoms have light gray codes on the gear doors such as this:



..which I have a ton of. But the Hooligans had to be different, and use black or dark gray? Like this:



...which I don't have. Can anyone raid their decal stashes and help out a fellow modeller. I also have a post in Buy/sell/trade.

With the nose gear set aside while I wait for number decals, I've finished post-shading. I used a lighter Gunship Gray first, then a darker gray with black/brown mixed in and added stains and shadows. I then blended it all in with the base Gunship gray to try and keep this ANG bird somewhat clean:









I originally was gonna use the SUU-23 from the Hase weapons set, but then realized its the long version, and I need the shortened version with the blunt back end. The True Details resin offers this for only 8 bucks but its pretty crude. So I opted for the... $20.00 Wolfpack version and am glad I did. The centerline pylon that comes with it is cast perfectly and correctly. Here's the comparison between the two gun pods, the non painted one from the Hase weapons kit:







I also completed the stabs, and the seeker head covers for the Aim 9s, and will be trying out some RBF tags from Aerobonus:

Why I robbed them from the excellent Daco set for the Starfighter. They have a ton of useful plastic! I also robbed the travel pod from the set as well.

Someone needs to make covers like that. I could use a few........dozen.

Aerobonus has a nice set in a few different scales. Or you can buy just the sprue that contains them from the Daco set. I know also Eduard's brassin set includes them.
