So I have to thank in order: Lyle, for the two sets of shapes; Carlos, for the photos and the explanation of a blanking plate; and also painting the surface white; and John for the tutorial which is superb—between the three of you, I am going to have a much better chance of making these spirals. Also: Stuart, Paul, Fermis and Clint—thank you for the encouragement of your fine examples. Now I have to strip paint, repaint white, mask and paint black... and try not to cock it up.

Go Bruce, you got this! I've never done spirals on a spinner either. It's just as well.

Unfortunately, there was some bleed through of the black paint underneath.
Rather than adding another coat of white primer, I used 1,000 grit Tamiya sandpaper to remove everything from the tip of the hub.
I will prime over that so just one layer will be there.
You may also note I am just thinking about the RLM 76.
I just sprayed a little, mainly to check seams out.



I have a little table I wrapped in sheeting on the busted patio. That is what I use as a painting surface.
I am hoping the workers start stucco soon.
They just keep making more and more of a mess.
Everything looks like fallout from an explosion outside.
That is the last hurdle for my outdoor airbrushing production to face!
Gunze RLM 76 works well.

The 76 looks really nice Bruce, it's a great colour.

PITA with the bleed through but I'm sure you'll get it sorted.

Your paint work is looking lovely on that! And it looks like you’ve got a solid fix going for the hub there, right on! Looking very good!
