Marching onward with Milliput putty applications—




The idea is to fill as much of the “wing root gap” as possible before mounting the wings or in this case the “wing section.”

Looks smooth as a babys butt !

I added more Milliput putty last night. I propose to spray white primer inside the “trunks” of the inlets only. This will also give me some idea how Tamiya primer adheres to the 50 year old plastic which I have cleaned and sanded; yet, still sometimes there are comparability issues.



Then I will glue this part which represents the top half of the inlet in place to complete the fuselage assembly.



At that point, I will need to decide if I use a pencil line to represent the panel details or scribe them. I still am in two minds about which choice I should make. I think my intentions are best served by starting with pencil lines first, since those are extremely easy to adjust and refine.

I like your methodology and approach. Way too logical for me, though. Calvin and Hobbes lives within.

Bruce, I suspect that the Tamiya white primer will stick to the plastic like a plague. You shouldn’t have any problems with adherence. The assembly sequence sounds fine for your end goals. And I bet that the penciled on panel lines will turn out better than you expect.

Thank you both. On Saturday I cleaned out the closet with “Bruce’s Childhood” inside and was pretty wrecked from doing so. I was holding a small bible provided to my grandfather which he inscribed as being in his possession in Nairobi. I believe this was at hospital where he was treated for his second case of malaria. I straightened and tidied all of his medals, and lost track of time completely. Each piece of cloth and each piece of metal carry the weight of the past in some way....

Must have been feeling like being a timetraveller, touching those artifacts and yes, feeling the past in them. Very special!
