That is how I feel, too. What you are doing, John, is simply magnificent in all departments.

Thanks guys! Sometimes I just stall on this phase because I like looking at the completed cockpit! The MDC cockpit is very nice once it is painted. I think I like MDC better than Eagle Editions but detail on Aires setsl is better than either, IMO. In comparison to the Aires 109 cockpits I've used, the MDC details look slightly overscale.

It will be really good. The colors and fit of the cockpit is great. Please continue like this.

Just some minor progress on the G-14 as the painting on the Tank fighter goes into full swing. The wing spars are glued into the fuselage bottom. The MDC ammo chutes have also been glued into place. Previous to mounting, I've sprayed the interior of the chutes black.

The fuselage bottom is glued into place. A little bit of joint work is needed here. But when that is completed, I may have to set this build aside.


I have some aftermarket pieces coming in from Australia and it looks like the shipment has been delayed. It includes the RB Productions Bf109G wheel well set. I really can't move forward without getting the wings done so I'm going to go into wait mode for a while.

Some potential movement on this build... the shipment from Australia is out for delivery right now. So I should be getting some aftermarket items such as a Barracuda prop/spinner and the RB Productions Wheel Well set. Hopefully I can post an update soon!

After a long shipping delay, I finally received my "care package" from Kahunaminor. Thanks so much Kent!


The next order of business would be the wheel wells but I'm not quite ready to jump in with the sawing/cutting yet so let's take a look at some of the other upgrades. The shape of the kit oil cooler intake is a little off... too straight-sided.


The Barracuda replacement is designed for the Revell G-6 kit so I was curious to see if I could get it to fit the Hasegawa model. Looks like a very good match! You can readily see the differences between the kit and resin parts.


Also included is the Barracuda G-6 prop and spinner upgrade.


The shape of the kit spinner is a little too bulbous and has incorrectly shaped openings for the prop blades.



I'm not quite into full modeling mode right now. With that part of my brain not fully engaged, I stuck with something simple to while away my lunch hour and removed the casting block from the back of the spinner.

A hole will need to be drilled out in the center.
