Primer—Tamiya White!




The tip of her nose looks a funky—correctible with sanding, methinks!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. A little shaping of the nose radome is in order. But the white looks good!

Thank you, Kari, Lyle and Carlos! You’re aces and all of you still build vintage kits, so you know there is a lot of seam filling going down! Fuselage is real close to being done. The majority of potential seam-popping stress fractures are sealed with CA and beads of Milliput. The added weight does not hurt. The strength is there. As you can see, there is a join between the rear of the cockpit and the upper shell of the intake. I faired that in from side to side and back against the wing section and still there was a gap. I have filled it. Maybe not enough. But, I feel good. I don’t know if I want to keep chasing the seams here. Let a few be present as a reminder. The danger or penalty would be to lose more of the raised paneling and rivets and I kind of like keeping these present.

The wing gaps are a challenge. I do not want to add strips of styrene or work too invasively upon the surface which has led to a fair amount of “hopscotch sanding,” both unseen at the joins and seen on the upper panels. Maybe I am also biased in favor of sculpting clays (I do want to use card as filler when necessary.)
