1:48 Grumman XF5F-1 Skyrocket

This is a Yellowwing you not see often, the Grumman XF5F-1 Skyrocket was not acepteted by the Navy, but for Grumman it was the start of experiance that bring the Tigercat in service.

The kit is from Minicraft Models, it is not so easy to buy, so I am happy to have the long and the short nose. Longnose was build years before, but the short nose is finished today.

NMF: first of all and used for all metallic areas, I spray filler to the ac surface, Gunze or Tamiya, both are great, than grind the surface if should be a "chrome" ac with wet grinding paper up 2500 and 4000, and clen the model very accurate

my favorit color is Model Master Chrome Silver (used here) and Humbrol Polished Alu for a flatter alu.

For a workhore NMF ac I spray Revell flat coat as last, for polished ac I use Mr. Metal Primer from Gunze.
