Dragon Panther A late, Russian army - 1:35

This new project has been in my head for a week or two now: not the usual T-34 with "balkenkreuze" and black grey paintjob but this time it will be a german tank captured and repainted by the russian army:



As i understand it, from searching on the web there were several russian units who used all kinds of german armor such as Panzer II, III and these Panthers. Particularly succesful tank crews were "awarded" these tanks as token of gratitude (and probably hoping the crews would rack up even more kills). Thus ends my knowledge on the subject. Primary thing for me to want to do this: i never seen it done before.

For my project i will use the Dragon Panther A Late with a Verlinden zimmerit set and Verlinden zimmerit schurzen. Nice bonus in the box is a mantlet with zimmerit molded on to it. Nice!



Lastly, together with my zimmerit order i also ordered Ak Interactive's "weathering set for green vehicles" along with some more goodies. I am sure this will help me along the line during this build!

Is this one also an entry for the Ostfront GB?

Interesting story of those captured Panthers.

This one is starting too early to be able to be included in the Ostfront GB but ill be entering some other cool thing. The picture, according to achtung panzer is taken in the Warsaw, Poland area early '45. A unit appearantly commanded by a Ltn. Sotnikov

Very interesting subject! As I've mentioned before, I have a penchant for the odd and unusual. This fits right in there!

Will you attempt to capture the "running paint" effect on the star as well?
