#3...Testors/Fujimi A-7D
Each kit has it's good and bad points.
-The Italeri kit seems to capture the shape very well...but lacks in some details. There's no intake trunk, just a "wall" about a 1/4" behind the lip. A FOD cover is provided, but it looks stupid, so I smash molded a new one.
-The Testors/Fujimi kit is about on par with the Italeri as far as overall shape and look, but less detail in the gear bays...no nose gear bay at all (this would benefit from some scratch work...but I didn't feel like it....just gonna sit on my shelf anyway!)
-The Hobby Boss kit is best in the details department...although, the pit is just as basic as the other two kits. Gear bays are good, as well as the avionics bays (if you choose to have them open). The big drawback to this kit is in the shape...it's a bit too long, and too thin/short (from top to bottom), canopy is too wide and short(in height), nose is too long and pointy, and the intake is too flat. Basically, it looks like the bastard love child of an A-7 and F-8....kinda!
