Revell/Monogram 1/144 Saturn V

Post by Stuart »

Hi Gents,

Thanks for opening a real space forum Lyle!

I'll be building a Revell re-release of the old 1968 vintage (according to scalemates) 1/144 scale Saturn V - the rocket that launched the Apollo missions and took man to the moon.

This is the kit...

Image

I'll be building it pretty much oob although as it has rather basic detail - I'll try and do some scratch-built additions too.

More pictures to follow - now I've cleaned the sensor on my SLR I'll take some sprue shots over the weekend.

Cheers all

Stuart

You're most welcome, Stuart! These things are truly ginormous. They have one on its side at the Johnson Space Center. Massive beast.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Sorry Gents - I haven't forgotten this - The end of school year, work, prep for my holiday on Friday and the need to finish some other bit's off have taken over somewhat.

All I have done over the past few weeks is assemble the 1st stage - currently I'm cleaning up the flash and seams on the 5 F-1 Engines - which has been heaps of fun...

Cheers

Ah yes, good memories, except mine was twice the size of yours! I'll be following this with interest!

Was watching the first Youtube video with interest! Sadly, the second one doesn´t run here... Could you provide me with the direct link to the second one, please?

Hope you will find time to continue this one, an exciting project!

Apologies Thomas - I've been away from the bench for a good few months now and haven't gone anywhere near this - I need to rectify that. I dust of the box tonight and take another look at it.
