*COMPLETED* Cuba Libre | 1/72 MiG 15bis

Post by tigrazor »

New on the bench: a smaller project to test natural metal colors. I have chosen the Eduard MiG 15bis in Cuban colors.

Hasta luego. :)

Exactly. Of course 9 from 10 modellers will do the Soviet versions. I have to admit that the GDR version looks great as well (thats where I was born), but have chosen this one - GDR will be done in a bigger way some day, MiG 21 in 1/48 or something.

and here I thought you meant this....

This should be a neat build. Of course I am more partial to the Korean War Mig-15s... But seeing how Cuba is what it is in this hemisphere and in post WWII history, this should be good. :hmm:

Dont drink & model, Stik. :giggles: :rules:

Just in case you want to build them sooner or later, Fermis - one of them is in a museum not too far away, i. e. its located @ former Junkers-Werke Dessau. Heres something for you, if Im not mistaken its a UTI version:

I dig it!
UTI, is the 2 seater, right? Got one of those in the Eduard "Royal Class" offering. I've got a special place in my heart, for 2 seater versions of what are normally just a single seat aircraft.
I was really hoping to get to an aviation museum, during our trip to Germany last year...but, no joy

I'm not really a huge fan of the MIG-15....I find it rather boring. However, the little Eduard kits are loved by this guy!

With you standing close to this MiG-15 one sees how small this fighter was! Should be tiny in 1/72, too...

Pretty tiny, yes - but nos as tiny as the Akagi for example. :D

May I introduce to you: Henry Perez and the Cuban flag, combined for a base picture (it will be included in a glass picture frame).

That is a very nice cockpit Tigrazor! I hear only good things about the Eduard MiG-15, I hope you have a pleasant build. What technique are going to use for the metal finish?
