MiG 21 MF | 1/48 | Eduard

Post by tigrazor »

Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far
You're gonna fly high, you're never gonna die
You're gonna make it if you try, they're gonna love you.

I have two 1/48 Eduard MiG 21 in my stash. First comes the ProfiPack of the classic. Well known for its price and value, the kit almost builds itself. By chance, the uncle of my girl was an engine mechanic on the MiG for a lot of years, and furthermore, there are some 21s just around my city, not too far away. This will be very helpful for the 2nd build especially, which will be a "Cuban ruptured duck", i. e. a crashed "R".

Lets see how far I can push it here.

Strange... A Games Workshop color seems to fit the PE parts. ;)

:yikes: That bang seat looks simply phenomenal. Heh - I wish I can find some Citadel paints in my area. Hmmm.... come to think of it, I think I know of a place in at a mall in Syracuse.

:hmm: That seat looks top notch indeed!

Blacksheep, I think to find Citadel paints you need to look for places that sell board & miniature fantasy wargames such as Warhammer. Not so much traditional hobby shops as gaming shops.

Stik is right!

Finding a correct color for the PE parts is of course a matter of believe. Of course you can do it the other way round too. The "hardliners" would choose the very correct color (and keep the scale effect etc. in mind) and repaint the PE parts maybe or something. For the sake of getting it done quite soon and not in 5 years, I choose this way and say:

"Well, not the very correct color. I like it anyways.".

;)

My point exactly. Last I knew, there is one such shop at the Syracuse mall I was referring to.

Thats true - I only hear good things about the kits. Meanwhile, the seat is in the office. Here and there, I toned the blueish color a bit down with some greenish accents and assembled the "cigar". Again no fitting issues here. More kits like that please. ;)

Outstanding Tig !

Based on my very humble experience of kits, Eduards Mig-21 is perhaps the best kit I have ever touched.
