Italeri 1/72 Vought Corsair F4U-7 (Suez Crisis)

Post by Stuart »

Hi all,

Here's my other wip - Italeri's rather nice 1/72 F4U-7 Corsair built as a French Navy bird during the SueZ Crisis.

I was really pleased with how the cockpit came out - this is my best work so far in 1/72.

Before I sorted out the rather nasty paint bleed issues on the stripes.

And after - with Guns and other bits fitted... (painted in Humbrol Rattle cans and brushed Stripes).

So next up is the clear coat and the decals - and painting up the engine etc.

Cheers & thanks for looking.

Nice work, Stuart! Looks like a Corsair.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Those stripes look outstanding!

All in all nice details, nice looking Corsair all in all!

How will you fix the unfortunately broken propeller blade ? CA glue I guess ?

Man Stuart, you are on fire this year! The pair of Lightnings, and now this little beauty! Keep it up!

Thanks guys - I'm certainly happy with how it's come out so far. I quite like the scheme actaully, when the French Navy marking go on it'll be quite colourful.

@Kari - Spot on - I fixed it with CA glue.

Cheers

Hey, i built this kit a few years ago. Its a nice kit, even if it is lacking in a bit of detail.
Really great work so far.
