A model Bisnovat 5-1 and 5-2 1/72

I haven't been building and posting much. Sorry for that.

Anyway, I am currently building the A model Bisnovat 5-1 and 5-2 rocket research planes. That is right, two kits in one box! The 5-1 is the glider, to make that in you have to cut of the tail and glue on a new one. The 5-2 is the rocket powered variant.
This is a typical short run kit, some hate them, I like them! Not much details but good enough for a closed canopy build. The wings also have some inserts probably because of moulding limitations.

I used some lego as a jig to get the wings in the right angle. In this case actually 5 degrees downward! Left is the glider 5-1, right the rocket powered 5-2.
And yes, at first I glued the 5-2 wings (with downward tips) on the 5-1 fuselage! But I found out quickly.

There’s “Engineering”, and then there’s “Fungeneering.” This is a fantastic mix of both. Great hack!

Tailplanes are on. Once again the 5-1 left and the 5-2 right. The difference is subtle but it is there. This is the late 5-2, after "debugging" (a model's words). The early 5-2 had the same wings as the 5-1... I really have to keep a close eye on the instructions and the variants that I am building.

And yes, Lego makes for an easy way to make a support.

I read up on these little birds the other day after you posted this thread. Now that I know what to look for, the differences stand out immediately. Nice work so far!
