The Duke's Latest Aircraft

Post by Duke Maddog »

I only have the one aircraft, but this is one of three vehicles that are being delivered to my Japanese Forces.

This is the Japanese F-2A fighter that is replacing the F-1 in service. This is the 1/72 scale Hasegawa kit:

That is BEAUTIFUL Mark!!! What colors did you use on the upper surface camo scheme?

Can only agree fully with Stik, this F-2A looks very good!

Not only the special colorful camo (the Japanese roundel on top of blue looks very good!) but also the extraordinary (?) shiny canopy hits my eye!

Wow, thanks for the awesome comments and compliments guys!

Carlos, the dark blue I used was the Testor's square bottle dark blue. I painted it over the Testor's Model Master Intermediate Blue base coat.

Kari, that is one of the first times I had such a clear canopy on any aircraft. I wish I knew how I did that so I could replicate it! I agree, those Japanese roundels do look great on that color scheme.

Thank very much to everyone else for your compliments and support!

Or.... you can buy this paint set through Plaza Japan website. It may take a few weeks to get here by slow boat, but it's worth the wait.

I bought this set early last year.
