1/48 Airfix P-40B Warhawk

Post by pzl66 »

Well it is that time to start a new model! This has been one I have been really wanting in my stash but what I would consider a good overall quality kit of it was hard to find until Airfix came to the rescue! Early WWII aircraft have a special place in my collection as the “classic” look of aviation is my favorite type! Here is the box art, actively working on the kit as I make this post.

Good choice - it's supposed to be a great kit. I built their 1/72 version years ago and really enjoyed it.

So far so good on the build, just waiting to add more color to the interior parts but can say fitment is great on it with the cockpit being built into a cage which is a pretty cool design.

Stopped by Hobby Lobby tonightnto, pick up red paint for my Torino kit and saw the same Airfix kit. I had debated on grabbing it but held off. Even with the 40% coupon, it still comes out under $20 with tax. Yeah, I figured out the final cost on calculator. :ballbat:

Get them... one at a time of course so you can use the 40% off coupon on each.... I have both in my stash, and they are gorgeous kits. Great bang for the buck.

I've got the P-51 already. Also have the 72nd P-40 and 5 72nd P-51's. I'm really liking all these new tool Airfix kits
