The 1/72 scale really is a copy paste x 0,67% of the 1/48!
Testfitting, need to paint still some parts of the cockpit before wrapping up. Most of the cockpit has been ready since almost a year..

Never Thomas, I have only made one in my life, and that must be soon 35 years ago...
And so far have started with a 1/72, a 1/48 and a 1/32..
Have understood that the Airfix 1/48 is a very good kit as well!

Eduard’s fidelity to the actual aircraft design is worth putting up with the over engineering of their component parts at least as visible in the 1/72 version since I have mine as a comparison. The Hasegawa either through age or molding or design has flattened the soft sweep of the wing far too much.

Airfix has several iterations of 1/48 Spits. Their original Mk.V was the best in town when it first came out in the late 70s but has been superseded in that class. But it is no dog, only a product of its era. It has been upgraded a bit to allow some related versions to be built in later boxings. Later they did some late Marque Spits which are still viewed as very good kits, recessed detail and all.
