I am just going build the Howitzer and build the Skycrane at a later date. This should be an easy build because of the low part count. I will try to detail it with a metal barrel from aluminum tube and I thought I could use the steering wheels out of old Hot Wheels as adjustment handles.

The parts, lots of flash to clean.

An old kit I haven’t seen since the late 70s thru the 80s. Typical molding for a kit that age.

Yes Blacksheep, I bought a large assortment of 1/72 aircraft from a pawn shop. It was quite a few years ago, I think it was 17 models for $100, not a bad deal.

This is excellent! I built one of these a few decades ago now so this will be a trip down Memory Lane for me. I'm going to enjoy this. Also, congrats on such a great score! I wish my thrift store had something like that! :shoutout:

I have been working on the 105. I glued the two halves together and have been making adjustments and correcting some missing detail. I removed the kit barrel or at least the very end of it. Specs I found stated the barrel is 7'7" or 2.31 meters. At 1/72 scale that's 1.263 in. I cut 1/4 inch aluminum tube the correct length and drilled a hole in the slide where I removed the kit barrel. 105 mm scales out to be .057 inch but I enlarged the the hole to .040 and called it good.
