Eduard 1/48 Fw 190D-9 Late Black 6 III Gruppe/JG2

Post by Floki »

Put the finishing touches on this one today and got the dust cover built. My friend engraved the nameplate for me.
Again this is Eduards 1/48 kit of the Fw190D-9 Late in the markings of Black 6 of III Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 2 "Manfred von Richthofen"
The kit went together very well with the only real problems being the wing gun covers.
No diorama just a nice grass base I will eventually paint up a pilot figure to put with it to show scale.

Simpler is better. The base grass complements the late war camo well. I’d be tempted to toss some dirt down on the ground cover so it looks less like a golf course (shoot me for being critical). The aircraft is magnificent, Clint!

Thank you Bruce! Yeah I agree but I didn't feel like mixing up any sculptimold and I'm out of vallejo mud so this is just the foam painted brown with static grass glued down to it. I could pull some of it up in patches might do that when I add the figure.

Excellent finish on your Dora. The title work on the framing is a superb touch. Your friend has some skill with that art.
I do agree with Bruce that the grass area could use a little something... mud/dirt patches, oil stains, a few accessories like a starter cart or some fuel drums, to break up the monotony.

Carlos and Torben thank you. I agree I think I could look through my spare parts and find something to put with the Dora.
