SPA Modeler

Here is my finished Border 1/35 Fw 190A-6 painted in the markings of Walter Nowotny's Double Chevron. It was built mostly out-of-the-box since I couldn't find much in the way aftermarket for this kit at the time. Major markings were painted using custom cut masks. The kit was slightly modified to depict the inner landing gear door configuration. I left the upper gun cowling and two engine cowlings unglued so that the gun compartment and some of the engine can be viewed but the trade-off is that the joints aren't as tight as they could be if they were glued.

A gorgeous finish John! I do like how the engine access panels are removable to show off the nose area.

You know how much I love watching every single build. I have no words except sit back and follow the build from start to finish in admiration.

Superb scale modeling, John! I think the removable panels add a lot and actually, probably don't fit all that much worse than the real ones did after some use. This is another masterwork, John, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next one!

Another jaw dropping beauty John. Love the gear bay - complex with the gun barrels in the works. Didn't realize they went through there.
