Glutton for Punishment - B-25 Mitchell

BSY, this is your fault.

Amazed by some of the amazing detail added to builds by BSY, I got the itching to do a scratchbuild project of my own. Enter Monogram's SnapTite B-25 Mitchell.


Clear pieces are a little thick, but clear


and the markings are nothing but stickers


opening up, I was met with slabs of dark green plastic, loosely jumbled into the box. And yeah, no interior what-so-ever!

I spent the next few minutes searching through the spares box for anything that looked like it could go in the bomber.

I'm in. Where on earth did you dig up that kit? I had that very same boxing too many years ago for me to care to remember.

BSY is surely inspiring. Looking forward to your own gizmology.

A fella at one of our club meetings brought along a box of kits he was looking to give away. Not one to pass up a bargain, I scooped this one up.

yeppers, 1/72 scale it is!!

First things first, I stripped the fuselage halves of the snaptite pins. Pesky little things...


once the nubbins were sanded down smooth, I started adding the ribbing using strips of tape. Ill be building over this, so i didnt want it to stand up too much. After all the strips were down, I gave it a quick coat of future to seal it all together.



Then, most of last night and this evening were spent sprucing up the cockpit areas. A reminder of before...


and after!




Added some doodads and bobbles to the cockpit sides...




yay it fits!

No worse than the 1/72 scale kits I used to build in the mid to late 1960s....................actually, better.
At least Monogram seems to have given more than a pilot figure sitting on a stick.
