CB's Forgotten F4F of Tamiya

Post by cbaltrin »

Well you guys did it--you made my open up my Tamiya F4F box and see what was going on in there...

Here is what I had done on my F4F before it landed on The Shelf

A little inspection and I remembered why it got shelved. It was the wing.
  • I screwed up the installation of the little windows, and a fix would end up obliterating most of the detail in that area :headbang:
  • I did not care for the little plastic stubs in the wings that were supposed to look like guns and did not feel like putting the effort into fixing them at the time... realistic looking guns are important to me on a fighter plane :bored:

The cockpit and Engine are little gems so I may need to put this back on the list of kits to finish in the next 12 months. The issues noted above are definitely fixable with the new modeling powers I have acquired in the 10 years its been on hold ... :giggles:

Those little windows are small enough to do with krystal kleer.
There's too much goodness there not to finish.
Thanks,
John

As a pilot I think the only things those windows would be good for would be to see if I had a bad oil leak or the plane was on fire!

At this point, I would rather build the Airfix 1/72 scale kit; however, I will finish this!
