German 8.8 CM Flak 18 Anti-Aircraft Gun

Post by BlackSheep214 »

With the 190 sidelined for the moment, I decided to try something new. This kit I purchased at Syrcon 2025.

Interesting.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Sweet!!! I’ll enjoy watching this one! Have the same kit in my stash. I’ve only built the old Tamiya 88. :hmm: I’m curious to see how the AFV Club 88 goes together.

Last night, I did minimal progress. Only 5 of 6 parts installed.

Image

Plastic seems to be brittle, especially on tiny fiddly parts. Already broke one part. Placed it on tape and used liquid glue to repair it.

Image

Another downside, too many ejector pins on the sprues and some parts. The sprue itself.

Image

It does make nipping parts off the sprue attachments pain.

Ejector pins where it shouldn't be. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I have to nip them off and sand it down prior to any assembly.

Yeah that sort of things always annoying - the Tamiya Spitfire I'm building had injector marks on the inside of the prop blades... :headslap: :what:

Looks like typical AFV Club moldings with all those excessive release pin points… :headslap: I know your pain. :whiteflag:
