Great fun! I used to shoot up my models with an old Crossman lever pump.

The rifle is a crossman 2100. A remake of the 766 I had as a kid. 800fps rifled barrel. Nice pellet rifle for the money. The single shot pump Pistol is nice. The revolver is co2 powered and fun but no two shots are the same.
I sure shot up a lot of flaming models as a kid lol.

Take Willis to Rainbow Valley Road and go south until the pavement ends. Stay on the dirt road until you hit the ridgeline and you’re there. The shot up stuff will show you’re in the right area.

LOL…. I wished I had my grandfather’s old pump pellet rifle. He still had some pellets leftover too.

I only have two pellet rifles. One is the classic old Benjamin pumper and with 8 pumps, produces about 600 fps. The other is a Ruger (made by Umarex) Impact break-barrel, with 800 fps with steel pellets and 1000 fps with alloy pellets. Both are .22 caliber. The Benjamin is cool but it gets tough working that pump after four or five pumps and it's too dang loud to use for hunting. The Ruger is a deadly weapon and I've killed a hundred squirrels or more with it. It needs a new recoil spring now as I've left it cocked and loaded for too long but it was really handy having it ready to go when I saw a target. I'll need to order a new spring soon.

Last time I went looking the road was closed. I'll check it out again. Playing with the pellet rifles gives me a hankering to shoot the M1A. After the laws changed for 10 minutes in CA I bought a few 20 round magazines for the .308.

John, I long wanted an M1A, had an older gunsmithing neighbor who had a couple and let me shoot one. A few years ago, I bought this James River Armory BM59 rifle. They were originally made by Beretta, who converted all of the Italian Army's M1 Grand rifle to select-fire, with a 20 rd. magazine, bipod and grenade launcher. James River bought the Italian parts and used an American-made receiver. Sorry for the pics, they were the former owner's ad pics. I was struck by the pretty tiger striped stock! Do you have pics of your M1A? I'd love to see it, John!

Probably mentioned this before, but I remember taking old built models out in the woods back in the day with my cousin. We would hang them from tree branches shoot them down with .410 and .22 . I think they were all german a/c. One was the 1/24 Airfix Stuka
